The wind today is supposed to be up to 35 miles per hour and from the south, so straight into my face. In light of this it’s an easy decision to take a day off the river.
I really need the time to sort out my next steps, research some and read more about this area. So I make a lot of calls, write some emails and finally talk to some friends and family back home again.
Helen Howard, another great woman and friend of the River, is not only offering a bed at her place and multiple shuttles, she is also letting me use a space in her office at her company, the Desert River Outfitters. These people and their incredible helpfulness never seize to amaze me on this trip.
